With tens of thousands of Illinoisans in the unemployment lines in the final months leading to the November election, the state's top Democrats and Republicans spent Labor Day sparring over which party is more likely to put people back to work. Gov. Quinn whipped up hundreds of union members in Chicago's Millennium Park.

Art or 'defacement'? Veterans slam mural

Is it desecration or beautification? Artwork added to a memorial in Little Village for a Mexican-American war hero has some veterans up in arms. They are decrying what they call the defacement of a treasured site. But the head of the organization responsible for the art additions says his group has worked to enhance the memorial plaza.

Richmond/Spring Grove:  The Richmond/Spring Grove Chamber of Commerce raises money for Stateline Comets Football, Richmond Wrestling Club , and the Chambers Scholarship Program!
The Richmond/Spring Grove Chamber of Commerce held its “5th Annual Charity Auto Show” on Sunday, July 25th raising over $1,300.00 for Richmond Wrestling Club and Stateline Comets Football and over $2,000.00 for the Chamber’s Scholarship Program where the Chamber awards two annual scholarships to graduating students that reside in Richmond or Spring Grove!
The event took place at Intermatic, Inc. in Spring Grove.  The success of this event is the direct result of the generosity of our sponsors and prize donors, the commitment of time and hard work from our volunteers, committee, and chamber staff, and the generosity of the participants and attendees. 
The Richmond/Spring Grove Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to providing a favorable business climate by acting as a vehicle to promote the area’s economic progress.  The Chamber works to support the development of the business community and works to promote the quality of life for those that live and work in the area.
